Say it where you work.

Talkie turns speech into text in the Mac app you are already using. Dictate a message, a document, or a prompt without moving your work into a separate editor.

From a hotkey to the text field

Put the cursor where you want the words, hold your dictation shortcut, speak, and release. Talkie inserts the transcription into the focused field. Choose the shortcut in Talkie settings and allow the macOS permissions requested during setup.

On-device speech recognition

Talkie supports on-device speech models, including Parakeet. Download the model before using it. Local recognition processes audio on your Mac; a workflow that calls a cloud transcription service sends audio to that service instead.

Keep the context behind the words

Some thoughts need more than a text field. Talkie also captures voice notes, screens, and meetings. Bring the relevant material together and hand it to an agent when you want to turn it into work.

Common questions

Can I dictate without an internet connection?

On-device speech recognition can run after its model is downloaded. Cloud transcription, remote AI providers, and sync require a connection. Check which model and workflow you have selected before relying on an offline session.

What if the text does not appear in my app?

Check that the intended text field has focus and that Talkie has Accessibility permission in macOS System Settings. Check the configured shortcut in Talkie as well. Permissions for one installed copy may not apply to another copy.

Is Talkie only a dictation app?

Dictation is one way to capture. Talkie also brings voice notes, meeting transcripts, screens, and agent handoff into the same capture system.
